Warragul Farmers Market's President, Cindy, is also a talented Chef. She is a creative genius behind some of the most flavoursome dishes. Her passion for food is undoubtedly just one of her many strengths. 👩‍🍳

We are excited to announce that Cindy, our resident Chef, will provide regular flavoursome recipes to tantalise anyone's tastebuds!🤗

Cindy recently had some dental work and had trouble eating. Still wanting to enjoy her meals, Cindy was inspired to create this delicious food option, as it was easy to eat. 😃

Ginger Milk Curd🥛

This popular Chinese dessert has an interesting flavour and silky texture.

👉Ingredients

  • One tablespoon of fresh ginger juice (from about 30 gm of fresh ginger)

  • 200 ml fresh full cream milk (@GippslandJersey Milk)

  • Two teaspoon sugar

  • Honey and fresh berries (optional) @BlueTreeHoneyFarm & Verducci Market Gardens


👉Method

  • Prepare the ginger juice.

  • Peel and finely grated ginger.

  • Press grated ginger through a sieve placed on top of a small glass bowl.

  • You need to get about one tablespoon of ginger juice.

  • If you have a kitchen thermometer, heat the milk in a saucepan.

  • Stir in sugar when the milk is warm.

  • Closely monitor the temperature on the thermometer when it reaches 70 degrees cel / 158 degrees F.

  • Remove the pan from the heat.

👉Make the curd

  • When the milk is ready, stir the ginger juice with a spoon.

  • Pour the milk quickly onto the juice. Leave to set.

  • Do not move the bowl or stir the milk. Leave curd for 10 minutes to set fully.

👉Serve the curd

  • It can be served warm or cold.

  • If you wish, pour a little honey on top and decorate with fresh berries before serving.
